The 15 things we check, and why each one costs calls

  1. Google can list your homepage. A stray noindex tag or robots.txt block hides the whole site, and no amount of other work matters until it's gone.
  2. Secure (https). Browsers label sites without https "Not secure," and a lot of people back out right there.
  3. Homepage title. It's the blue link in Google. If it doesn't say what you do and where, searchers pick the next result.
  4. Search description. The two lines under the link. Without one, Google grabs random text and fewer people click.
  5. One main headline. Your H1 tells people and Google what the page is about in one line.
  6. Loads quickly on phones. We add up your page, its photos, videos, and scripts. A page over 3 MB, or one photo over 500 KB, takes many seconds to show on a phone, and most people leave after about 3.
  7. Built for phones. Most local searches happen on a phone. A desktop-only layout loses those calls.
  8. Tap-to-call phone number. People ready to hire want to call now. One tap beats copying a number.
  9. Easy way to book or get a quote. If the next step isn't on the first screen, a lot of visitors never find it.
  10. Local business schema. Structured data spells out your address, hours, and service area so Google doesn't have to guess.
  11. Enough words to rank. Thin pages rarely rank. Google needs to read what you do, who you serve, and where.
  12. Image descriptions. Alt text helps Google understand your photos and helps visitors who use screen readers.
  13. Canonical tag. It tells Google which version of a page is the real one, so duplicates don't split your ranking.
  14. Sitemap. A sitemap helps Google find every page, especially new service and location pages.
  15. Share preview image. When someone texts or posts your link, a real photo gets far more taps than a blank box.
